In my MFA thesis film, PONY, our protagonist, Zoe, a late-'90s genderqueer pre-teen, defies a grieving mother to embody their true gender and sexual identities in the wake of a family tragedy. Zoe uncovers her gender at a time where all trans representation in the media was either harmful and peripheral, or absent.
Official Selection and World Premiere, TRANSlations: Seattle Trans Film Festival, May 2022! Part of the BITTERSWEET shorts program. TRANSlations also curated a screening of PONY at the Seattle Boys & Girls Club in June 2022, as part of a free Pride Teen Late Night program during Pride Month.
Official Selection and International Debut, LFEST Lesflicks Film Festival, July 2022! Part of the "ONLINE SHORTS STRAND: TEENS" program.
