The Madness of Dionysus
, 2025

Performed by my collaborator, Fearless Longing, at the Darkness Visible II showcase at PLEX in Athens, Greece, on October 16th, 2025. Presented and co-facilitated by Ron Athey, Hermes Pittakos, Federica Dauri, and Michele Occelli. DV II poster & video documentation by @jeremycarne. Production coordinator @nikolaskasinos. Performance photos by Makis Evangelatos.

In Athens, Greece, two mediums simultaneously channel and build altars to their respective gods in adjacent rooms (YRIA, 2025). Ariadne weaves a web (ARIADNE, 2025); Dionysus paints the Tree of Life (The Madness of Dionysus, 2025).

Witness Dionysus.

The Madness of Dionysus
, 2025, is site-specific performance, mural & altar installation, made while Fearless incorporated the spirit of Dionysus via mediumship.

The mural is an energetic depiction of the Tree of Life using glow in the dark paint, lit by blacklight.

The Madness of Dionysus was performed concurrently in an adjacent room to my piece, ARIADNE, which together form a spirit possession diptych of two mad and married gods.

Ron Athey with Fearless Longing, the day after the performance.
